Client Relations Specialists
Teri is our office manager and has been at Animal Care Center since it's opening in 2001. " I really enjoy the family atmosphere and working with team members that truly respect and care for each other and the pets in their care. I enjoy working here so much that I drive 93 miles one way!" She enjoys horseback riding, camping, working on her hobby farm and spending time with family, friends, and mother nature. Teri also spends time off with her home based business, creating one of a kind, ceramic urns for departed pets. Teri shares her home with husband Dennis; Three dogs, two cats, two horses and two donkeys.
Leisha joined our team in August of 2009. She and her husband Roger and son Nick share their home with "Lola" the Beagle. Yes, this is a "What ever Lola wants, Lola gets" household! Leisha enjoys, gourmet cooking, Interior design and is also a professional Singer/Entertainer. What Leisha likes best about her job is the interaction with pets and "their people".
Cheyne joined Animal Care Center in late 2009. She is originally from Colorado. Her wonderful husband Chad, introduced her to the Mid-West about 2 years ago and she is very happy to be here! Chad & Cheyne are the proud parents of a very handsome son Cormick and a new baby girl, Charlee. Cheyne’s family means the world to her and would not be complete without their two dogs, Lola & Kora. In their spare time they enjoy canoeing, fishing and spending time at our cabin.
Natalie joined Animal Care Center in February. She resided in Baxter with her husband Jeff and their two “the boys” Jasper & Jake, their two Labrador Retrievers. Natalie enjoys spending time with family and being outdoors in all seasons. She also enjoys scrapbooking, photography and strangely enough, cleaning her house. Natalie looks forward each day to making every patient and their pet parents feel that we are here for them and their needs with a smile on her face.
Ruth is a longtime resident of the Brainerd Lakes area. She and her husband Tom enjoy golfing, and traveling. Ruth joined Animal Care Center in June of 2010.
Certified Veterinary Technicians (Veterinary Nurses)
Karen is our technician manager and joined the Animal Care Center team in 2001 when the practice opened. She enjoys the daily challenges of her career and the opportunity to always keep learning. "It's amazing to see the changes and advancements in pet care that I have seen in my career as a CVT." She enjoys fishing, reading and the outdoors with her husband Mark.
Kristi joined our team in March of 2010. She grew up in Hancock, Minnesota and graduated from Argosy University in 2007. Kristi has two cats, Mia & Lily and one dog named Bella. When not working she enjoys many outdoor activities such as wakeboarding, snowboarding, fishing, camping & hiking. Kristi enjoys the art of making soy candles. She loves being a veterinary nurse and knowing that our patients are getting the best care possible.
Jessica is originally from Benson, MN and loves camping, traveling, and reading. She also enjoys playing with her dog Tito and her 3 cats Mazy, Bella, and Jinx. Professionally Jessica joined ACC in 2006 and especially likes client interaction and education as well as meeting lots of pets.
Jenna joined our team in 2008 and is a graduate of Ridgewater College. "What I like best about my job is keeping people's pets healthy, and helping the sick ones to get better." Jenna's hobbies include anything outdoors, like hunting, fishing and four-wheeler riding. Jenna has a three-year-old pet cat named Bijou and a new kitty named Alley Cat.
Abbey re-joined the Animal Care Center Team in 2009, and was previously part of the team for two and a half years in 2005. She lives in Baxter with her husband Jeff, two children; Cooper & Lainey, two dogs; Anna & Roxie and one cat; Clay. She enjoys being active with her family and pets inside but especially outdoors. "I love the variety of my job and always learning something new."
Melanie is from Brainerd and attended Ridgewater College in 2007-2009 then was hired after her internship at Animal Care Center. "I love seeing how owners are with their 'children' as pets, and they love them like I love mine" Melanie is getting married in June to fiancé Nick and Melanie have 10 animals including 4 dogs; Nara, Duke, Willie & Charlie, 6 cats; Oompa, Kitten, Chela, Sailboat, Dia & Newbie Jaws. Melanie loves her job and everything about it!
Karissa is originally from Ham Lake and recently relocated to the Brainerd area along with her cat, Kritters. She joined our team in February. She enjoys fishing, camping and the great outdoors but a good book nice too. Karissa enjoys working with animals and giving them the best care available.
Animal Care Givers and Assistants
Christine joined our team in 2007 and loves to interact with fellow employees and all the animals. She likes the atmosphere here and how it is family and animal oriented. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, fishing, crafts and school activities. Christine also volunteers at the VFW and Eagles Club. She lives with her husband Shane, their adoptive son Jim and their 2 dogs Blue and Essem.
Kendra attends Central Lakes College in Brainerd and joined us in 2006. Kendra is not helping in more of a Veterinary Assistant role. Kendra, daughter of Dr. Rehnblom, has always liked the fun and energetic clinic atmosphere and truly enjoys working with our patients. She works hard around her busy college schedule to find time to do the things that she enjoys like: working at Animal Care Center, shopping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, riding horse and doing farm chores. Kendra has two horses named Phenix & Bo; two donkeys, Mama Snicky and baby Adelade; one dog, Tia; and two cats, Bianca & May.
Grooming
Kristi has been a professional pet groomer since 1996, and joined Animal Care Center in 2001. She likes the variety of working with many different dogs and cats. In her spare time she rides horse, and goes camping and fishing with her husband Bill. Kristi cares for her dog banjo, three cats, three horses and five donkeys. In late December of 2008 Kristy became a new mommy of a beautiful baby girl and we are happy to report that she is back! Kristi is working 1-2 days per week.
Sandy joined our team in December of 2008 to help out while Kristi was away. Sandy has fit in so well that we have offered her a permanent position. Sandy shares her home with husband Scott and twin sixteen-year-old daughters. Sandy's family has "the perfect dog" a golden retriever trained by the girls, two cats, two rabbits and three horses. Sandy likes getting to know the different personalities of the pets she grooms, they are so loved and cared for like children. "I also enjoy the caring atmosphere of my co-workers. They are here because the like their jobs."
